READY FOR REAL LIFE CHANGE?

Has your life ever changed from the inside out? We are not talking about circumstances changing, although that can happen. Real change means there was a point when you made a spiritual decision and afterwards your life turned around! You had new beliefs, new desires to obey God, new behavior, a new direction, a purpose for your life, and you experienced peace and joy! This decision must have been based on the truth. If you cannot remember a day when this kind of change ever happened to you, then the answer is to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. See what to do below:

The promise of eternity is clear in Scripture; we are made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26-27) and that means we are eternal beings.  God made us this way. Eternity is promised in Scripture to both the saved and lost.  Heaven or hell faces those who are made in the image of God. God planned for you to have a relationship with Him and live in heaven someday because He loves you!  "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3). He has a wonderful plan for your life on earth too! But the curse of sin in our world has hindered that plan for those who do not have a relationship with God yet. Romans 3:23 say, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Sins are anything we do, say, or think that do not please God. Some examples are: lying, stealing, cheating, disobeying, disrespecting authority, lustful thoughts and deeds, not helping those who need help, or even pride in one's goodness. Isaiah 53:6 states, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all. When Adam and Eve fell in sin, all of mankind fell with them. No wrong thought or deed can be cleansed by a person's good works. Eph. 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." But there is Good News, a way to get rid of your sin!

So first, in order to get back on track fulfilling God's great plan for you, you must ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR LOST CONDITION; that you are a sinner in need of God’s forgiveness. In Luke 13:3,  Jesus said, “I tell you, nay, unless you repent, you too will all perish.”  Unless you acknowledge and turn from your sin, you will perish or die in your sin, resulting in separation from God in hell. God does not want that to happen to you, but He is holy and cannot break the law that says no sin is allowed in heaven, and all sin must be punished.  So He worked out a way for you! John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes unto the Father, except through Me." (That's Jesus.) John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world (you), that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Jesus, God’s Son came to redeem us, to restore us from our fallen state.  He died in our place, for our sins.  I Corinthians 15:3-4 states, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”  Jesus indeed died in your place and my place. He paid for our sin upon the cross. His death purchased our redemption; he paid the price of our salvation upon the cross. I John 1:7 states, “… the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. What Good News!

In Rev 3:20, Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.”  This means that Jesus will save you from your sin and give you eternal life if you ask Him. Romans 10:9-10, 13 says, “… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation… For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you will ADMIT you are a sinner, and are willing to REPENT (turn around and follow God, not your sin) and BELIEVE Jesus died on the cross in your place, paid for your sin through His death on the cross, and rose again the third day from the dead, that Jesus is ALIVE, and finally asking Him to be your LORD, (boss) asking Him to save you, you will be saved! This is the only way to have a changed life now and forever (2 Cor. 5:17)! Are you willing for God to be in charge of your life as Lord? That means you are willing for every decision and dream to be filtered through God’s will because you are trusting He knows what is best and is in charge of your life. If you are willing for Jesus to be your Lord, your life will begin to change! Change does not happen because of what you do, but because of what you let Jesus Christ do through you. Say a prayer like the one below and mean it from your heart and let God change you today.

Pray—

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
